6The UL-275 Series is a 600lbs fail-safe electromagnetic lock designed for access-controlled and secure areas within buildings. Available in monitored and unmonitored versions, it offers selectable 12/24VDC operation, low power consumption and reliable locking with no moving parts to bind or wear out.
The UL-275-SL-A is the monitored version of the UL-275 Series
600lbs electromagnetic lock. It is designed for access-controlled
and secure areas within buildings and provides a fail-safe locking
solution with no moving parts to bind or wear out.
When the monitoring functions are connected to a compatible security
or access control system, lock and door status information can be
provided to the system. The connected system may then display the
current status to the security operator depending on the system
configuration.

When power is applied, the electromagnetic lock is energised
and creates magnetic force that holds the armature plate
securely against the lock.
When the door is fully closed, the armature plate sits
face-to-face against the magnetic surface of the EM lock.
The UL-275 Series provides holding force of up to
600 lbs.
On the monitored UL-275-SL-A version, lock and door status
information can also be provided to the connected security
system when the monitoring functions are used.
When power is removed, the electromagnetic force is released
and the armature plate is no longer held against the EM lock.
The door can then open. This is the
fail-safe operating principle of the
UL-275 Series.
The UL-275-SL-A is the monitored version of the series.
Available extended monitoring functions include
Lock Status Monitoring and
Door Status Monitoring.
When connected to a compatible security or access control
system, status information can be sent back to the system.
This allows the connected system to display the relevant
door or lock condition to the security operator. Abnormal
conditions can then be handled according to the configuration
of the connected security system.

This version provides electromagnetic locking without the additional
lock and door status monitoring functions of the monitored
UL-275-SL-A version.
