Automate Intercom Button Test

The Jacques Self-Test Button (STB) serves as a remote testing mechanism for the push button, acoustics, and data communications. Diagnostic tests conducted through this button are logged and recorded on the system controller. Any failed tests trigger an alarm within the system for prompt attention.

Report & Logging

Jacques systems offer comprehensive event logging, capturing all call activity and fault conditions for incident reporting or maintenance purposes. The results from self-acoustic testing of intercom speakers and microphones are documented. Additionally, tamper alarms are reported if there’s any damage to or tampering with an intercom device, enabling a timely response from the maintenance team.

Configurable Event Triggers

The system can be customized to activate events based on actions performed within the intercom, help point unit, or public address system. These triggers include, but are not limited to, CCTV activation, light control, door/gate/boom gate release, pre-recorded message broadcasts, SMS or email notifications, night mode operation (call diversion based on hierarchy and time of day), and scheduling of bell or warning alarms.

SIP Interface

The Jacques SIP software module facilitates seamless integration of the Jacques communication system with various compatible digital telephony systems like Avaya IP Office 500, Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk, and others. With the SIP trunk, an unlimited number of concurrent calls can be handled between the phone system and the Jacques system. Additionally, the SIP gateway ensures that calls are always addressed, even outside regular hours, by routing them to an external telephone system.

High Level Interface (HLI)

The Intercom Report Server (IRS) software module plays a crucial role in precisely documenting and reporting live system activities, encompassing system operation, network management via traffic monitoring, alarms, and device status. Accessed through a web interface, the IRS offers a dynamic view of live events for real-time system monitoring. Report details can be customized using four distinct filters, depending on the specific reporting requirements:

Default: Generates reports including tags, status (online or offline), resets, the count of answered/held/connected calls, failed calls, total ringing/calling/connected time, and duration of triggered alarms.

Call Activity: Creates reports comprising tags, timestamps of calls, intercom descriptors, and call handling details.

Advanced System Features

Covert Monitoring

The system incorporates sophisticated covert monitoring functionalities, enabling a master station with the requisite permissions to discreetly listen to audio from any intercom terminal. During covert operation, the system disables any call-connected notifications, such as the Call LED, on the intercom terminal, while also preventing any audio from being transmitted through the intercom terminal itself, ensuring effective audio monitoring.

Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC)

When employed in full duplex mode, the acoustic echo cancellation (AEC) engine substantially diminishes disruptive interference stemming from acoustic reflections and feedback, thereby guaranteeing clear audio quality.

Enhanced Covert Monitoring

Jacques acoustic echo cancellation, (AEC) software, significantly enhances the clarity and intelligibility of covertly monitored
prison cell conversations. This software acts upon the streamed audio available at the intercom device.
Background music (BGM) is streamed from the IP Communication System into the prison cell. The AEC software samples the audio as it is streamed. When the covert monitor is activated, the sampled audio is significantly reduced, leaving mainly the cell voice conversation for easy operator monitoring

Intelligence-Hub Covert Monitoring

Choose any intercom terminal for intelligent surveillance, monitoring, and recording purposes. The audio stream from selected intercom terminals can be utilized by law enforcement or surveillance teams for ongoing monitoring and can be accessible around the clock if necessary.

Threshold Monitoring

The system incorporates threshold monitoring, automatically connecting a call or activating an alarm notification if ambient noise surpasses a predetermined level at any configured intercom endpoint.

Isolate Nuisance Callers

The system offers the capability to isolate calls originating from nuisance callers who repeatedly press the intercom call button. These isolated calls can be manually restored, or a global time-out setting can be configured.

Call Prioritization

The system utilizes priority queuing for calls, enabling it to recognize and prioritize calls from predefined important, high-risk, or critical areas. This ensures that communication lines from the caller to central control are given priority treatment. There are 256 available call priority levels to choose from.

Prisoner Welfare Systems

Contact Visits System

The Jacques Contact Visit Systems enable discreet monitoring of prisoner communication within shared environments. In communal areas like mess halls or meeting rooms where contact is permitted, there may be a need to monitor, record, or listen in on conversations between individuals. Covert monitoring devices, typically concealed within tables, facilitate this function. Management of the Contact Visit system is conducted through a dedicated Contact Visits system Graphical User Interface (Contact Visits GUI), allowing supervising authorities to perform various covert monitoring tasks, including listening in on conversations.

Non Contact Visits System

The Jacques Non-Contact Visits System (NCV) enables clear communication between visitors and individual inmates while maintaining physical separation. Utilizing intercom terminals on either side of a glass or Perspex barrier, visitors and inmates can communicate hands-free or with handsets, preventing physical contact. The system records all conversations between visitors, inmates, and operators simultaneously. Supervision of communication via intercom booth pairs is managed through the Non-Contact Visits System graphical user interface (NCV GUI), ensuring comprehensive call control. Additionally, the NCV GUI facilitates group or single endpoint Public Address (PA) announcements, intrusion detection, instant playback of recorded audio files, and call monitoring from any master station within the network, fostering a cooperative environment for prisoner visits.

Cell to Cell Communication

The Jacques Cell to Cell communication system facilitates communication between prisoners in solitary confinement through intercom terminals installed in their cells. This system is specifically designed to uphold the personal welfare of maximum-security inmates who are primarily confined to their cells. Ensuring a safe, controlled, and monitored environment for prisoner interaction is a top priority for secure facilities and governments committed to upholding the human rights of prisoners.

The PC Master Graphical User Interface (GUI) serves as the central management tool for the Cell to Cell communication system, enabling prison administrators to dynamically select pairs of inmates for communication. Calls can be manually initiated or scheduled for future connections, allowing any two prisoners to be connected in a call. Scheduled calls are configured using the Jacques Announcement Scheduling (JAS) interface.

Prisoners are notified of impending calls with a Start Announcement, after which the call duration specified by the administrator begins counting down. Either prisoner can terminate the call at any time using the Cancel Call button on their intercom. Upon conclusion of the call, an End Announcement is played to inform the inmates that the call has ended.

As with all Jacques systems, administrators have the capability to monitor, intrude, and record calls, as well as make announcements as needed.
